Paolo Lambruschi is a journalist who began his career in 1992 working with a number of radio and television stations in Milan, as well as the weekly magazine Il Nostro Tempo. He edited the monthly street culture magazine Scarp de’ Tenis and the monthly ethical finance magazine Valori. As a correspondent for Avvenire, he primarily covered issues relating to immigration, poverty, and human trafficking. In 2011, he won the Premiolino, one of the oldest and most prestigious journalism awards.

Political analyst Irene Panozzo has over 25 years’ experience covering historical and political developments in the two Sudans and the Horn of Africa. She started out as a researcher and journalist before becoming a political adviser to several EU Special Representatives for the Horn of Africa. She has also collaborated with Radio3 Mondo and worked as a journalist for the Lettera 22 news agency. She has also been an expert consultant for the ISPI (Institute for International Political Studies) for many years.

Simone Bruno is a journalist who works in Latin America and Africa. He has lived in Colombia since 2003. He is a correspondent for France 24 and Arte, as well as a producer for Al Jazeera. He is a founding member and president of the International Association of the Colombian Press and has taught video and investigative journalism at the Universities of Rosario, Los Andes and Santo Tomás in Bogotá.

Federico Mastrogiovanni is a journalist, documentary filmmaker, academic and translator who was awarded the National Journalism Prize in Mexico. He graduated in Sociology and, in 2013, obtained a Master’s degree in Mexico–United States Studies from the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is a professor of journalism in the Department of Communication at the Ibero-American University in Mexico City and Tijuana, and has been a visiting professor at the universities of Bologna and Genoa.

Giorgio Cuscito is a geopolitical analyst and scholar specialising in China and the Far East. In his role as an editorial advisor to the magazine Limes, he coordinates the China and Indo-Pacific section and edits Bollettino Imperiale, Limesonline’s observatory dedicated to China and the Far East. He is the author of the book Xi Jinping. Come la Cina sogna di tornare impero (Piemme). His work focuses on China’s geopolitics and strategic culture, Sino-US competition, the Belt and Road Initiative, artificial intelligence, and the cartography of the Far East.

Simone Pieranni, is a journalist who previously lived in China, where he founded China Files, a news agency that provides various Italian media outlets with reports and articles on China and Asia. From 2014 to 2022, he was head of the foreign desk at Il Manifesto. He now works at Chora Media, producing the podcasts Altri Orienti, Fuori da qui and Taiwan: perché?. He is the author of Red Mirror. Il nostro futuro si scrive in Cina (Laterza, 2020), La Cina nuova (Laterza, 2021), and Tecnocina (Add editore, 2023).

Farian Sabahi is an Associate Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Insubria, as well as being the Delegate for Institutional and Diplomatic Affairs at DISUIT (the Department of Human Sciences and Innovation for the Territory). Her areas of specialisation include Iran and Yemen, as well as the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asia. She has taught at universities in Italy and abroad. Since 1994, she has contributed to various Italian publications, including Il Sole 24 Ore, Corriere della Sera, Il Manifesto and La Stampa, as well as a number of Italian and international television and radio programmes, such as Radio Svizzera and BBC Persian.

Marina Lalović is a Serbian journalist born in Belgrade, former Yugoslavia. In 2000, she moved to Italy, where she graduated from La Sapienza University with a degree in publishing and journalism. She then worked as an editor on an in-depth programme about immigration issues in Italy for Sky’s Babel TV. She was also a correspondent in Rome for the Serbian daily newspaper Politika, as well as for the Serbian radio and television station B92. She currently presents the foreign press review and the programme’s in-depth features at Radio3Mondo (Rai Radio 3).

Francesco Strazzari is an Italian lecturer. He teaches international relations, specialising in armed conflicts, political violence, and organised crime in Europe and Africa, at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa. His latest book is Frontiera Ucraina. Guerra, geopolitiche e ordine internazionale (Il Mulino, 2022). He edits the Afromediterranea series for Carrocci and contributes to Domani, il Manifesto and Rai.
