Crescere, la guerra

Gaza, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iran, and so many other countries, names that flash by on the tape of Great History without ever giving a voice to those who live through that drama every day: the people. This is how Crescere, la guerra came about, the first show by journalist and war correspondent Francesca Mannocchi on stage with musician and composer Rodrigo D’Erasmo.

A show that intertwines voices and real testimonies, gathered from various wars of the past and present, to highlight the blind spot of our humanity: indifference. A journey capable of speaking directly and necessarily to the present, bringing to the stage what often remains on the margins of public debate: the wounds of war, the transformations of the body and the gaze, the responsibility of telling the story.

Through the words of those who lived through the war, the show demonstrates how the seeds of future conflicts lie hidden in our ignorance of the present, in the carelessness of those who recount events without concern, and in the deafness of those who listen without empathy. It is a profound reflection on time, memory, and collective responsibility. Because every war also arises from what we have been unable to protect. And every peace is built on what we decide to see.
